Getting all the pieces cut is always the hardest part.

Smith Rock

Beautiful hike in Central Oregon
The reason cats climb is so that they can look down on almost every other animal ~ it's also the reason they hate birds.

Frost and Sun

Awake early this morning and when it became a bit light
I was shocked to see this beautiful abstract of frost

Light a Penny Candle

I was recently watching a show staged in the 1930s.  How people thought electric lightening was horrible and they didn't want to use it.  I do love the soft lightening of a candle but how we take for granted the turn of a switch.

Poetry

Poetry is the journal of the sea animal living on land, wanting to fly in the air.
Poetry is a search for syllables to shoot at the barriers of the unknown and the unknowable.
Poetry is a phantom script telling how rainbows are made and why they go away.

Winter Snack-For One

I love how this sunflower has been undiscovered by the general masses. One little bird keeps it a secret and munches periodically from it's center.

Some Like It Hot

I'm beginning to appreciate sake.
I think I rather prefer it hot to cold.

Red Birds

Little red birds, all in a row
teach me to sing and watch me grow.

Break

There is a break in the weather and the birds are enjoying the sun.
They often wish I wasn't the voyeur that I am!

Relic

The Farmer in Wet Weather

Goddess of drizzle, driving your big
cartloads of mist
across my fields!
Send me some sun
and I'll sacrifice
my cow --- my wife ---
my Christianity!

Morning in Queenstown

A friend of mine just recently returned home from a long visit to New Zealand.  His pictures brought back many fond memories of our time on the South Island.  I remember waking up to this beautiful sunrise from our posh hotel window in Queenstown.

Congregation

Ever wonder what these birds talk about when they sit together on the wire? Probably what all big groups talk aobut...themselves, others, nothing at all.  I assume it's the latter.....

Light

We are each gifted in a unique and important way.
It is our privilege and our adventure to discover our own special light.

I'm no Gemini

I've lived my whole life as a twin and now I'm told I'm not?  You've stolen piece of my soul.  I've blamed my mood swings, my evil side, all my bad habits on my twin.

I once was: intellectual, spontaneous, inquisitive, cheerful, imaginative, curious and extremely witty

Now I have to get used to being:  compassionate (yeah RIGHT), dependable, loyal, and sensitive (NOT)

I'm having an identity crisis.  I'm off to find some rainbows and bunnies and be sensitive  (hahahaha)

Okay I really don't believe in such things but I do find it funny that after all these years of reading my horoscope for laughs and thinking "wow it's so right" it's been "so wrong!"

Yesterday

What you need to know about the past is that no matter what has happened, it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment.  And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new.  Right now.  ~Author Unknown

Little Red Fruit

Christmas brings us many things but perhaps my favorite holiday treat is the pomegranate.
Everyone buys them not knowing what to do with them, most let it go to waste because it "takes so much work for such a small amount of fruit".  I've learned the easy way of removing the seeds, no mess, bowls of lovely red seeds waiting.  My friend told me to add them to the enchiladas as it brings out the taste of the sauce and adds a little sweetness.  We'll see how it fairs.  Until then, I'll eat them like candy corn and enjoy the end of the winter holiday season.  Due to my surgery I missed days 1-6 of Christmas, so in my mind I'm still laboring through the 12 days of Christmas.

Through the Trees

During our lives, I think we all have issues with seeing the forest through the trees.  Today, I realized I need to quit worrying about the small things and concentrate on the bigger issues.
Good advice self...you're welcome.

Chaos..the fun type

We started the year at work parking in a chaotic sort of way.
It's become a game to the employees and each day we slide into the parking lot wondering how everyone will park.
And no one is willing to stop!
