Fogbow
The fogbow's lack of colors is caused by the smaller water drops ... so small that the wavelength of light becomes important. Diffraction smears out colors that would be created by larger rainbow water drops

Fall Crocus
October
was a beautiful month at Green Gables, when the birches in the hollow
turned as golden as sunshine and the maples behind the orchard were
royal crimson and the wild cherry trees along the lane put on the
loveliest shades of dark red and bronzy green, while the fields sunned
themselves in the aftermaths. Anne reveled in the world of color about
her.... "I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. It
would be terrible if we just skipped from September to November,
wouldn't it?..."

Fall on the Metolious
Bittersweet
October. The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause between the
opposing miseries of summer and winter.

The Frost Has Frosted
Our last harvest from the garden (except the leeks and brussels sprouts).
We've officially reached the 20s this week. I know summer is complete when I pull the tomatoes and peppers.

Baked Peppers
Yummy poblanos from the garden.
Filled with quinoa and cheese, what a great combo.
It's our first year growing poblanos and I love their hearty taste.

Feeling HOT, HOT, HOT
Poblano Crazy
First time growing these peppers and they are doing great.
You can tell the size by the scale of my gloves.
Next stop, roast these lovelies and stuff them.
